Firefly includes editorial templates for blogs and articles plus standard, contact, FAQ, and order-support page templates. Create and maintain the underlying resources in Shopify Admin, then assign and configure the appropriate template in an unpublished theme.

Blog template

The Blog section presents the current blog’s article list. Settings include:

  • Desktop layout: Grid or Collage
  • Desktop and mobile heading alignment
  • Articles per page
  • Desktop and mobile columns
  • Desktop and mobile grid spacing
  • Show featured image and Image height
  • Show date and Show author
  • Color scheme and section padding

Pagination appears when the blog has more articles than the selected page size. Use consistent featured images and concise excerpts. Test articles without images, long titles, multiple authors, and comment counts where comments are enabled.

Article template

The main Article section provides desktop/mobile title alignment, content width, desktop/mobile content size, desktop/mobile share alignment, color scheme, and padding.

Reorder these article blocks as needed:

  • App
  • Custom Liquid
  • Featured image
  • Title, with optional date and author
  • Content
  • Share

The Share block uses the browser’s native share interface when available and a copyable-link fallback. Check the article title, canonical URL, featured image, excerpt, and author in Shopify because those values also contribute to page metadata and structured article data.

Article comments

When comments are enabled for the Shopify Blog, Firefly can render existing comments, pagination, a new-comment form, moderation messaging, validation errors, and success states. Configure comment moderation in Shopify and review submissions according to store policy. The theme does not create customer comments for demonstration.

Standard Page template

Create a Page in Shopify Admin, then assign the desired Theme template on the page record. The standard main-page section includes:

  • Show page title
  • Heading size and alignment
  • Content width
  • Desktop and mobile text size
  • Color scheme and padding

Use the standard Page template for evergreen content such as About, Shipping information, care instructions, or a size guide. Keep legal and policy content in the appropriate Shopify policy resources when those built-in links and checkout references are needed.

Contact page

The contact page template includes a Contact form section. Create the destination Page, assign the contact theme template, then configure heading, explanatory content, phone-field visibility, button treatment, desktop/mobile alignment, color scheme, and spacing in the theme editor.

Test required fields, email format, optional phone, message, submission success, and error behavior. Store notification routing and email delivery depend on Shopify’s store settings; the theme supplies the storefront form.

FAQ page

The faq page template provides a structured FAQ section. Create a Page and assign the faq template; the page does not automatically exist just because the template is present. Add Question and Answer blocks, group related questions, and link to authoritative policy or product pages when an answer requires more detail.

Order-support page

The track-order theme template uses the customer-facing Order support section. To use it:

  1. Create a Shopify Page for order help.
  2. Assign the track-order template to that Page.
  3. Configure the section and select the store’s contact Page where requested.
  4. Add the new Page to an appropriate customer-service menu.

Order support links customers to Shopify customer account and recent-order information and can direct them to the selected contact Page. It does not accept a tracking number, query a third-party carrier, or create fulfillment events. Tracking availability comes from actual Shopify fulfillment records.

404 page

The 404 template handles storefront URLs that Shopify cannot resolve. Keep the heading and recovery action clear, and provide a useful route back to shopping or search. After changing handles, menus, or page assignments, check redirects in Shopify Admin rather than relying on the 404 page as normal navigation.

Add editorial sections to other templates

Featured blog, Rich text, Image with text, Multirow, Collage, Video, FAQ, Collapsible content, and Page content can be used beyond the main Blog or Page templates. Adding a section to one JSON template does not automatically add it to every template. Confirm the current template name before editing.

Content and accessibility checklist

  • Use one clear page or article heading and a logical heading order in the body.
  • Add meaningful link text and image alt text; do not repeat the adjacent caption as alt text.
  • Use tables only for actual row-and-column relationships, with headers.
  • Caption or transcribe media when customers need its audio or visual information.
  • Check long URLs, wide tables, embeds, and third-party app blocks on mobile.
  • Preview translated titles, dates, author labels, comments, forms, and pagination.
