Keyword Tracking
Keyword Tracking connects to Google Search Console to monitor average position, impressions, clicks, and CTR for the terms that matter to your store.
Requirement: connect a Google Search Console property that includes your storefront.
Connect and sync
- Open Keyword Tracking and connect Google Search Console.
- Choose the correct verified property under GSC site. Use Load site list if it is not shown.
- Select a date range: 7 days, 28 days, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or 16 months.
- Choose Sync ranking data.
Add a tracked keyword
Select Add keyword, enter the search term, and define its ranking scope. When relevant, limit it to a specific page, country or region, or device. These settings affect the metrics shown for that keyword.
Understand the metrics
- Average position: the average ranking of the matching result; lower is generally better.
- Impressions: how often a matching result appeared.
- Clicks: visits from Google Search.
- CTR: clicks divided by impressions.
Google may exclude the latest two days while processing data. A ranking change is more useful when considered together with impressions, clicks, page intent, country, and device.
Use the data
- High impressions and low CTR: improve title and description relevance.
- Positions 8–20: strengthen page content, internal links, and intent match.
- Clicks falling after a page change: compare periods and validate indexing.
- Use Export Excel for reporting or deeper analysis.
