Keyword Tracking

Keyword Tracking connects to Google Search Console to monitor average position, impressions, clicks, and CTR for the terms that matter to your store.

Requirement: connect a Google Search Console property that includes your storefront.

Connect and sync

  1. Open Keyword Tracking and connect Google Search Console.
  2. Choose the correct verified property under GSC site. Use Load site list if it is not shown.
  3. Select a date range: 7 days, 28 days, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, or 16 months.
  4. Choose Sync ranking data.

Add a tracked keyword

Select Add keyword, enter the search term, and define its ranking scope. When relevant, limit it to a specific page, country or region, or device. These settings affect the metrics shown for that keyword.

Understand the metrics

  • Average position: the average ranking of the matching result; lower is generally better.
  • Impressions: how often a matching result appeared.
  • Clicks: visits from Google Search.
  • CTR: clicks divided by impressions.

Google may exclude the latest two days while processing data. A ranking change is more useful when considered together with impressions, clicks, page intent, country, and device.

Use the data

  • High impressions and low CTR: improve title and description relevance.
  • Positions 8–20: strengthen page content, internal links, and intent match.
  • Clicks falling after a page change: compare periods and validate indexing.
  • Use Export Excel for reporting or deeper analysis.
