Get your Shopify store ready for SEO with six essential steps. You can refine advanced settings later.

Who can use this guide?

The Quick start guide is available to all Firefly Sky SEO Suite users. Some settings and limits depend on your subscription plan.

  1. Speed up your store

Visitors are more likely to leave when a store takes too long to load, and page experience can affect search visibility.

  • Open Firefly Sky SEO Suite and go to Dashboard.
  • Open Speed up your store under Improve your search ranking.
  • Select Go to settings.
  • Turn on Site speed up and review the recommended options.
  1. Optimize images

Smaller, well-described images can improve loading speed, accessibility, and search visibility.

  • From Dashboard, open Optimize images.
  • Select Check it out, then Optimize now.
  • Let the optimization process finish; large stores may take longer.
  • Review image compression, alt text, and filenames when processing is complete.

Free plans can optimize up to 100 images in total. Paid-plan limits depend on the current subscription.

  1. Run an SEO audit

Run the SEO audit to identify what is working and what should be fixed. Use the resulting checklist to prioritize technical, content, and on-page improvements.

  1. Enable Google Structured Data

Structured data helps Google understand your store and can make pages eligible for rich results.

Open Google Structured Data from the dashboard, review the search preview, and enable the relevant data types for your homepage, products, collections, local business, reviews, breadcrumbs, FAQs, and articles.

  1. Optimize meta tags

Meta titles and descriptions help search engines and shoppers understand a page.

Use Basic mode to manage individual homepage, product, collection, and article metadata. Use Rule mode to apply reusable templates across groups of pages. Review the preview and save your changes.

  1. Connect Google Search Console

Google Search Console helps you monitor indexing, search queries, crawling issues, and search performance. Connect it after the initial optimization steps so you can track progress over time.

Next steps

Revisit the dashboard regularly, work through high-priority audit issues, and measure changes before making additional optimizations.
